He graduated from Istanbul Pertevniyal High School in 1987 and went to Gülhane Military Medical Academy.
(GATA) entered.
After completing his assistantship training at the Gülhane Military Medical Academy Brain and Nerve Surgery Clinic between 1997 and 2002, he served as the service chief of the Brain and Nerve Surgery Clinic at Izmir Mevki Military Hospital for 2 years.
He completed EANS "European Courses in Neurosurgery" courses between 2001-2004.

Dr. He received training in endoscopic pituitary surgery and skull base surgery with Amin Kassam for one year. Since 2005, in addition to brain surgeries performed with classical microsurgical methods, he has been performing all kinds of endoscopic brain surgery, especially endoscopic pituitary surgery, endoscopic intraventricular surgery, endoscopic brain tumor surgery, endoscopic arachnoid cyst surgery and endoscopic 3rd ventriculostomy.
Turkish Neurosurgery Association 2008 proficiency written exam, "EANS Part 1 European neurosurgical examination" written exam held in Prague in January 2009, and "EANS Part 2 " held in Germany in January 2010. He passed the oral examination and received the European Neurosurgery certificate.

2012 _ He attended the International society of pituitary surgeons "ISPS" meeting held in Montreal, Canada, as an invited speaker on endoscopic pituitary surgery.
Assoc. Prof. is the only pituitary surgeon from Turkey who was invited as a speaker to the International Society of Pituitary Surgeons, or ISPS, meetings in 2010 and 2012. Dr. Bülent DÜZ became DÜZ.
Assoc. Dr. The endoscopic pituitary surgery series, which is the largest series in the world and includes 800 surgeries, was published by Bülent DÜZ and his colleagues in America in 2011 in J Neurosurgery, the world's most important neurosurgery journal.
He served as assistant editor in Turkish Neurosurgery and Turkish Neurosurgery journals between 2007 and 2014.
He worked as an Associate Professor at GATA Brain and Nerve Surgery Clinic in Ankara between 2010 and 2012.
He served as Istanbul GATA Haydarpaşa Brain and Nerve Surgery Service Chief between September 2012 and September 2016.
He has been working as Professor of Brain and Nerve Surgery at the University of Health Sciences since September 2016.

BULENT DUZ MD, Professor in Neurosurgery
Bulent DUZ MD, has graduated from Gulhane Military Medical Academi (GATA) in 1994. He has completed the residency program in GATA Department of Neurosurgery in between 1997-2002.
Then he was awarded to complete a year in University of Pittsburgh Medical Centre (UPMC) on Endoscopic pituitary and skull base surgeries.
He attended to “European Courses in Neurosurgery” and completed the full four cycles (2001 Prague, Functional, head trauma and paediatric surgery; 2002 Rome, spinal and peripheral nerve surgeries; 2003 Amsterdam, vascular surgery; 2004 Krakow; Brain Tumours and paediatric surgery). He passed “EANS Part 1 European neurosurgical examination” in January 2009 on Prague, than, “EANS Part 2 Oral examination“ in January 2010 in Germany. Due to the success in Neurosurgical examinations he has taken “European Certificate of Neurosurgery“.
He has earned several Scientific and Research awards during his carrier.
Prof. Dr. Bulent DUZ worked 6 years as the chief of department of neurosurgery in GATA HAYDARPAŞA in Istanbul.
In 2016 all military hospitals has been closed and due to new reconstitution and rearrangements Prof. Duz left the state hospital in 2018 and he is now on private practice. He is performing his private operations some well known private hospitals in Istanbul.
