Choroid plexus carcinoma – Childhood brain tumor
Choroid plexus papilloma and carcinoma are among the childhood brain tumors.
They are rare. Complete removal of choroid plexus adenomas is the only treatment for the disease. Choroid plexus carcinomas, on the other hand, are brain tumors that are extremely difficult to remove because they bleed a lot and grow very rapidly. Like papillomas, choroid plexus carcinomas should also be completely removed, but chemotherapy should be administered afterward.
In the video below, I will show you before and after images of a giant choroid plexus carcinoma, an extremely rare condition affecting both lateral and third ventricles, before and after its removal. To achieve the result you will see by completely removing this tumor, I had to operate on the patient seven times. The baby's small body lacked sufficient blood, forcing me to interrupt the extremely bloody surgery many times. But in the end, I succeeded in removing the entire tumor.
