Sciatic Nerve Lesion Surgery

A patient who had sustained a gunshot wound from a shotgun was unable to move their left ankle. I performed surgery due to a sciatic nerve lesion, and during the operation, a plastic fragment was removed that was not visible in pre-operative examinations. Plastic objects may go unnoticed because they are not visible on X-rays. In cases of close-range shotgun fire, if the plastic carrier is not found, it may become lodged in the body. This patient suffered from severe pain for a long time, but the surgery relieved their pain, and they were able to walk almost normally after 2.5 months.
